Justitia
Allegory of justice: Justita as a three-part coloured steel sculpture in an abstract, new form. The independent judiciary is an essential part of our democracy, alongside the executive and the legislature, as the third power in the state. The three-part sculpture personifies the situation...
...in court in an abstract way: the judiciary stands between two opposing parties as the decision-making authority. With reference to the judicial robe, the black stele represents the independence of the court through its colour, central position and towering height, a judging without regard to the person. Slight curves illustrate the aspect of careful consideration of the facts of a case. All the stelae show an open transparency through their views and thus illustrate the perception achieved at best by all those involved in the proceedings. The soaring, clear, objective form growing out of the ground makes the steadfastness and enforcement of the law visible. All three steles stand offset in front of each other, in relation to each other and at the same time at a distance from each other. The sculpture shows itself with clearly different faces: sometimes the views through them optically combine to form a single opening.Sometimes the vertical bands visually condense with each other. And sometimes you only see three narrow lines; then the façade remains perceptible as a whole from the side.At the same time, the verticals provide a signal-like effect for passers-by.
