...painted steel circles, each up to 5.50 metres high and 60 cm wide, stand firmly together - in keeping with the work of the fire brigade and the two cooperating local communities. The formal language is reduced to the circle: the basic form of the self-contained line, the ancient symbol of wholeness, permanence and stability. Here, the circle as a symbol of infinity also stands for constant, persistent work "around the clock". The round circles also create a relationship to the clear design language of the architecture with its rounded building corners through their clarity of form. The position and location of the "rings of fire" connect the directions of the paths and create different "faces" with different densities and vistas depending on the perspective and viewing direction. The red and yellow colours represent the element of fire. In addition, circles echo the colours of the fire hoses. Throughout the year, even in the darker seasons, the circles are traced in shape and colour by colourful, illuminated LED strips. With the "Feuerringe" sculpture, the spatial situation on the road connecting the two local communities and in front of the fire station gains a clear marker and a bright eye-catcher that is visible from afar.
